Launch of Henley’s International Alumni Board

Henley Alumni – Positive connections with a global impact!

After months of preparation, the long-anticipated moment was finally there: the 2nd February 2018 marked the formal launch of Henley’s International Alumni Board (IAB).
Representatives of nineteen Henley Alumni Chapters from all over the world – including Charles Mercieca (Chairman) and Herman Zandt (Committee Member) for HAAM – gathered at Henley Business School in central Munich for a highly interactive two-day gathering. In the presence of staff from various international Henley offices and campuses (UK, South Africa, Germany, Finland and Denmark), the history, current developments and – most importantly – the exciting outlook of the Henley Alumni network were jointly discussed, challenged and celebrated.

To date, Henley Alumni Associations in the various countries operated in a rather ‘hub and spoke’ structure: driven by Henley UK, each Alumni Chapter focused independently on making a difference in their respective national geographical areas. And this has been very successful: amongst many other credentials, Henley Business School holds the worldwide #1 rank for its Alumni network, connecting over 75,000 Alumni in 150 countries with weekly Alumni events around the world and a vibrant LinkedIn community.
Could it be any better?
Well, yes! When zooming out to a global level, the fragmented approach did not make full use of the real potential, collective power and so far untapped potential of a combined worldwide Alumni network. And that’s why Henley Business School has taken the initiative to establish the International Alumni Board (IAB):
A forum that truly links the individual chapters with each other and further strengthens the Henley Business School Alumni network.
In the wake of this exciting new dimension other exciting highlights have been announced: during 2018, the new online Alumni Portal will be launched, connecting Henley Alumni around the world in one e-platform to network with peers, offer and receive mentoring, access the job board, register for events, join special interest and much more!
In parallel, Henley Business School has adopted a new and refreshing marketing and branding strategy: non-traditional, provocative, intriguing, intelligent and inspiring. Keep a look out for the new appearance of Henley Business School: Where business comes to life – you will be pleasantly surprised!

Meanwhile, the Henley Fundraising Committee has launched the philantropic Henley Alumni Bursary. The Henley Alumni network is increasingly put to use for collecting funds for the offering of a place on the full-time Masters in Management at Henley Business School starting September 2018. Henley’s Disbursement Committee will select and support the most qualifying individual to be proposed through the various Alumni Chapters. Within a short time, £1,500 has already been raised (including £200 donated by HAAM) and more funds are requested to reach the target of £5,000.
If you like to donate funds for this good cause, contact To submit or refer an application for a potential candidate, attached find the Guidance Notes & Application Form.
